Business Consultant- advised small business owners in a broad range
of industries, recommended organizational structure and process changes to
increase productivity and profitability. Cost saving were identified using
financial records and process flows. Productivity improvements were
identified through employee interviews to determine the work flow and
problem areas. The deliverable of these analyses were recommendations; the
implementation of which produced greater profit margins. My role was not
only to produce and implement the recommendations, but to teach management
a better way of doing business.
ELI LILLY - Indianapolis
Project
Manager, eCommerce- contracted to Eli Lilly to manage the development of multiple web sites, including global components, online Clinical Trials,
LillyGenesis.com, LillyWomensHealth.com and
LillyDirect.com. Lilly is a mature project management organization. The disciplined use of PM processes reinforces the management skills of Lilly managers. Lilly eCommerce managers coordinate maintenance, development, and enhancements of Lilly.com sites.
I managed targeted corporate Internet site project development teams, led creation of and tracking against project plans. Ecommerce teams owned the front and back-end integration of Lilly.com sites. All aspect of
the website development life cycle, including requirement gathering, coding, testing and validation were under my supervision. In additions, vendor and
client management were part of my eCommerce PM duties.
GENERAL COMMUNICATION INC. GCI - Anchorage
Product Manager- managed development of a
cable modem product line. Responsible for business case financial analysis for each market and product in Alaska; coordinated, facilitated and expedited product development; all phases of product life cycle from vendor selection to customer service and billing; analyzed customer care processes for efficiency; designed processes for service delivery; tracked progress and deliverables; drove the development group to complete milestones; identified and resolved service delivery issues; accountable for financial and technical performance of the product group.
SB TRISPORTS - Santa Barbara
President non-profit organization- during my tenure as president of SBTS, I managed many projects, including production of special events such as the Carpinteria Triathlon (twice), the El Capitan Triathlon, the Gaviota Pass 15K run and the Nine Trails Ultra distance run. I managed production of collateral materials, and the Santa Barbara Triathlon Team magazine. Race management involves securing sponsorship for the event, coordinating the permitting and volunteers necessary to support the race. Donations are solicited for awards, bulk mailings are made, prerace sign-up and fee collections are made, race day entertainment and food are contracted, finish times are recorded, results published and mailed and more. These non-profit events gave me valuable experience in working with diverse groups to get a job done.
